Donor Drive

Donor Drives are one of the most valuable ways you or your group can help our organization further our impact on the community. As a nonprofit, we are constantly trying to compete for funding. Every voice advocating for our cause allows us to focus on making a real difference.

There are multiple ways you can organize a donor drive. The following are some of the most popular strategies to consider. You can choose one or use multiple. If you are a group, consider breaking up into smaller teams and enjoying your fundraising efforts in a friendly competition.

No matter what donor drive strategy you choose, make sure to use the SMART rule when pushing your objective. Specific — Measurable — Attainable — Realistic — Time-Bound.

Facebook Fundraiser

Facebook is one of the most powerful places to raise donations for a nonprofit because almost everyone you know is using the platform. It is common to organize a birthday fundraiser, but you can fundraise at anytime. Please consider choosing Earth Rebirth as the benefactor. It can help to choose a specific project or event of our to encourage people to support, general donations can work well too. It is common for individuals to raise anywhere from $50-$1,000 per personal fundraiser!

Crowdfunding

Crowdfunding sites like GoFundMe, Fundly, and Crowdrise are popular platforms to organize fundraisers for nonprofits. Consider organizing a fundraiser for Earth Rebirth on one of these sites and choosing a specific project to target. Common goals range from $500 – $10,000 per campaign. Email Campaign

An old-fashioned way to raise funds is to simply email friends, family, and colleagues with a pitch to donate. If you can email 100 people and convince 10 to donate $10, that’s $100 for the organization. If you are working as a group, this can add up fast. Here is a sample email script to use:

Dear [insert name],

You might have heard that I’m fundraising to help Earth Rebirth [insert reason]. This cause is very important to me because [supply a personal reason that appeals to the reader’s emotions].

I’m encouraged by the support I’ve already received, but I still need help reaching my fundraising goal of [insert dollar amount].

Would you be willing to make a contribution to my fundraiser? A gift of any amount would mean the world to me.

It would also mean a lot if you could share my fundraiser link on social media. The more exposure I get, the faster I will reach my fundraising goal.

I’d be happy to talk to you more about my fundraiser, so please don’t hesitate to reach out.

With love/Sincerely,
[Your name]

HINT: These email scripts can be used as their own campaign OR as a strategy to promote your crowdfunding and Facebook campaigns. Here are some additional email scripts to use.

Text Campaign

Text campaigns are newer and have grown more popular. We are going to keep it simple and not force you to use any complicated software.

For now, just consider a strategy similar to the email campaign. Set a target number to reach, a target donation amount, and a list of starting contacts.

Take your email scripts and simplify them to 2-4 sentence text scripts. Remove filler words and focus on getting straight to the point. Here are some tips for asking for donations.

If you have any questions or additional donor drive strategies we should add to this list, please message us. Don’t forget to consider joining Earth Rebirth’s memberships or becoming a sponsor if you haven’t already.
