As school gardens grow in popularity, groups all over the country are working to raise the standard of what students are capable of. But school gardens are not a new concept, they have been done for well over 100 years. So what is being done differently? What has changed? Is it working? What are the obstacles facing school gardens, what is the future of school gardening, and how can 21st-century solutions change the scope of school gardening?
Follow the nonprofit organization, Earth Rebirth, as they spend almost a decade in Oklahoma chasing a goal to set up a garden at every school in the City of Norman. Watch as they learn that growing doesn’t always mean progressing forward and they try to discover what strategies can take school and community gardening to new heights in the 21st century.
